November came and went in a blink of an eye and it’s officially Christmas season. Now that it’s December it’s time to crack down on the holiday shopping for our loved ones.
Since I got my first job, I have always tried to get something nice for each one of my family members. It was a very big deal for me to be able to spoil my family like they’ve all spoiled me. It’s the first official week of December and all the sales are popping up!
When I’m looking to buy gifts for my family, I try to get them something that they will like. A lot of the time we get people gifts that we would enjoy for ourselves, but it’s best to remember that the gift isn’t for you. People enjoy getting gifts that show that there was a lot of effort in picking it out, that makes them feel important. Holiday shopping is one of my favorite parts of the holidays. To be able to put a smile on someone’s face because of something I bought them with love… there’s nothing like it.
We all have different opinions on what the perfect gift is, this gift guide is just to give some inspiration on what to get your loved ones. The gifts on here are basically what I will be getting/ already got for my loved ones. We’ll start with the holiday gift guide for her and this list will vary starting from the makeup guru to the fashionista, and even for the home-body gal.
For the Makeup Guru:
Colourpop Golden State of Mind Shadow Palette: This palette is so perfect for the girl who loves shimmer on the lid. What’s great about this palette is how universal the shades are. You can go from a neutral and professional lid and then smoke it out a little for the night. These shadows can even be used as a highlight! Another perk? You can go pick it up at your local Sephora to guarantee you have it by Christmas!
Bite Beauty The Perfect Bite Amuse Bouche Lipstick Set: If you know someone that loves a good color range for their lipstick, then this is their gift. This lipstick set is a total win because it contains two neutral shades and two bold shades. Bite Beauty is one of my favorite brands because they use natural and food ingredients in all their products.
Becca Cosmetics Jet, Set, Glow! Prep & Prime Kit: This gift is perfect for the girl who lives for the glow. The Becca Jet, Set, Glow! kit includes their Backlight Priming Filter, First Light Priming Filter, and Undereye Brightening Corrector. All three of these products are great for a natural glow from within look, especially if the girl is always on the go!
Morphe Brushes Set 706 12 Piece Black and White Travel Set: People think that makeup application looks best if the brushes cost an arm and a leg, but in reality, they don’t. I have been using Morphe Brushes throughout my freelance makeup career and they have never failed me. These brushes are top notch and perform so well at such an affordable cost. This gift set goes for $25.00 and it comes with face, eye, and lip brushes PLUS a travel case!
For the Skincare Obsessed:
ELF Cosmetics Hello, Hydration Starter Set: Now that it’s getting a little chilly outside adding some hydration onto the skin is going to be necessary. ELF is an extremely affordable brand and the items in this kit can be bought separately for a decent price as well. I linked the items from Target.com, but they’re also available at Old Navy stores.
Ole Henriksen Balance It All: This kit is perfect for anyone with oily, dry, and combination skin. Basically, it’s a one size fits all package. It comes with a cleanser, toner, and an oil control hydrator. If you know a girl who loves a good spa night, this gift is totally for them!
For the Hair Stylist:
Ouai, Ouai To Go Kit: Created and used by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, this kit is an absolute must. I have used each product individually and let me tell you, they are INCREDIBLE. The Wave Spray is perfect for the day 2/ day 3 dirty hair because it gives the curls all their life back. And don’t forget that dry shampoo!
Amika Polished Perfection Mini Straightening Brush: This is the absolute best gift anyone could receive. Straightening brushes have become such a huge trend along with being a time saver. I personally don’t own one yet, but this is retailing at $35.00. WHAT A STEAL.
For the Fashionista:
Cable Knit Duster Cardigan: When buying clothes as a gift, you want to make sure you can see the person using it (not yourself). Cardigan’s are always a big hit, especially for the Winter. This is also great because you aren’t trying to figure out whether it’ll fit the person. The biggest perk of a cardigan is a cardigan with pockets. If you decide to purchase this I do make a small commission at no cost to you!
Foldover Ribbed Knit Beanie: Beanies make great stocking stuffers! You really can’t go wrong with gifting someone a beanie since they’re a really cute accessory for a casual outfit. I’d say pick out a color that compliments what this fashionista uses. If you decide to purchase this I do make a small commission at no cost to you!
Pink Sparkling Strand Bracelet: Bracelets and bangles are a great finishing touch to any outfit. The Pandora Store is basically the only place I get my jewelry from. All the rings I wear come from that store! They have so many options, and if your budget allows, you can totally go all out with your gifts at the store!
Quay Australia QuayxDesi On The Low II: These new and improved “On The Low II” sunnies are TO DIE FOR. They’re super chic and add a sophisticated look with the tortoise frames. There also a ton of other sunnies from this collection, which I will link here!
For the Athletic Gal:
The North Face Denali Thermal Ear Gear: Since the weather is starting to get frightful, this gift is perfect for the girl who loves to run all year round. It’s a wonderful sentiment to acknowledge that you know that person loves to exercise so you’re keeping them nice and warm!
Gaiam Classic Yoga Mat: If you know a Yogi who needs a new mat then grab them this amazing mat from Gaiam! This brand has been my go-to since I started doing Bikram hot yoga. Even if she doesn’t do yoga, mats are extremely important for someone to have. The ones at gyms are so unsanitary. There are also other options in color and thickness of the mat! If you decide to purchase this I do make a small commission at no cost to you!
Nike Gym Tote: OF COURSE a gym bag is a necessity for the athletic girl! For the gym, or to yoga, they need a place to put their extra clothes, water, and maybe even shoes. It doesn’t have to Nike specifially; Forever 21 has some cute options as well and I’ve linked them here for you. If you decide to purchase this I do make a small commission at no cost to you!
For the Girl Who Loves To Stay Home:
Bath & Body Works Frosted Cranberry 3-Wick Candle: Let’s be real, candles as a gift are the absolute best. This particular candle really smells like Christmas, plus they’re made with essential oils. I have a post on a huge candle haul that I will link here for more inspiration! Lastly, make sure you know what kind of smells this homebody loves, and always gift it with a ton of love.
Lemon Women’s Crochet Trim Slipper Socks: Let me tell you, slipper socks are the bomb.com. Because it’s starting to get chilly, socks become a must. What’s amazing about slipper socks is that they’re thicker than socks but don’t require us to wear them as shoes. I have some relatively similar, and although they aren’t this exact pair, they’re still one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. If you decide to purchase this I do make a small commission at no cost to you!
Pollin8 Tea: I have become such a big tea drinker while I’m at home and I always catch myself looking for a new tea to try (I blame my fiancé for this). Now, I haven’t tried Pollin8 tea just yet, but I’m putting this on here 1. Because I love supporting small businesses, especially from people I went to high school with. And 2. I want my fiancé to gift me this *wink wink*. You can definitely always try Amazon to grab some Yogi tea. Yogi is one of my favorite brands and I promise they will not disappoint. If you decide to purchase Yogi I do make a small commission at no cost to you!
Oh man — now that’s a list. I feel like this list ranged from teens to older women creating some big diversity! Hopefully, some of these gifts gave you an idea of what to get the amazing women in your life! The next gift guide will be for him! Men can sometimes be difficult to shop for but with the items I’ve got in mind, you’ll have no trouble!
We’ve talked so much about what to get others, but I want to know what do you want to receive this Christmas?! Let me know in the comments!
